Philippe Desloubières works with shaped, cut, welded steel sheets, like a tailor. This smooth and resistant material often comes to him as restrictive: it engages in a confrontation with the material which must comply with its wishes. Once formed, in color, the sculptures assert their playful, lyrical, dynamic character, left raw, they more manifest their materiality and density.

The art center made the artist want to rethink sculpture. With Inverse, it takes up space starting from beams and not from the ground as it always does! It is a matter of discovering a suspended piece which, like a bird, disturbs and enriches the space created by its sisters installed on the ground and coming to dialogue with it.
