The idea of Dérives was born during the first confinement where the time of isolation was imposed on us. This period turned us towards ourselves and we were able to drift away from the immobilization.

Drift…
This word interferes in the thoughts, it settles and intertwines with the images of the photographers known or discovered with the liking of the pages. Between technical research or scientific manipulation, the drift finds its place in the documentary, the representation of the individual and depicts a conquest of the elsewhere … From the infinitely small to the infinitely large.

The drifts that photography can offer are at the heart of this new edition of the Rencontres Photographiques, like a desire to get out of the predefined framework. Between the plasticity of the assemblies of ideas, forms and materials and the originality of the montages built, the decompartmentalization will be total. Through the work of eleven artists, you will drift in these protean universes.
