Adèle Robineau grew up in Brittany. She has always been sensitive to the environment. For The Eighth Island she drew inspiration from the Seven Islands Archipelago of Perros-Guirec paying tribute to the region of her childhood. She is particular interested in the colony of Northern Gannets which are migratory birds that use one of the islands in the archipelago as a stopover. 

 

The Eighth island is part of the Quinconce Prize. As the gallery is closed for the winter, the association now offers one artist the opportunity to display their work in the shop windows from January to March. This project is funded by the shopkeepers of Montfort-sur-Meu, who in return form the jury for the Prize.
