40mcube

Certified Centre of national importance for contemporary art by the Ministry of Culture, 40mcube gathers an exhibition space, a production workshop, a residency for artists and curators, a training centre and the Brittany office of the New patrons Society.

40mcube produces works, presents exhibitions in its own place or in other venues, and also in the public space. 40mcube sets up artists’ residencies, accompanies the commission of works, and  offers a range of educational activities for the public to accompany them in their visit of the exhibitions.

Conceived as a vibrant space for encounters, exchanges, and dialogue between artists, artworks, and audiences, 40mcube carries out several initiatives:

  • collaboration with artists in the production of artworks and exhibitions 
  • perspective on contemporary art through group exhibitions
  • engagement with public spaces and support for citizens in the commissioning of artworks, particularly those integrated into the national and European network of the New Patrons Society
  • professional training for artists
  • art education and outreach
  • artist residencies
  • the creation, promotion, and dissemination of the art center’s archives as a means of outreach.

40mcube also offers professional training programs for artists and creators, including certified courses as well as the “artist for ever” educational and training platform.

Through its projects, 40mcube is connected to every aspect of society –solidarity, the environment, disability, vocational training, health, education, teaching, research, architecture, urban planning, law, publishing… The art centre takes proactive and practical action to engage with society, working in close collaboration with local authorities, associations, networks, businesses, federations and trade unions at local, regional, national and European levels.

OPENING HOURS

  • Exhibition: from Wednesday to Saturday, 2 pm – 7 pm. Closed on public holidays. During the installation of the new exhibitions, the art center is closed.
